Lorraine Cunningham is the owner and designer of Grain-Line Design.
Lorraine graduated from the then, University of Ulster with a degree in Fashion and Textile Design in 1983. She has worked in the fashion industry with Paul Costello and Strelitz in Dungannon Co. Tyrone. She also established a private client base for bespoke garments.
Well known Northern Irish designers, namely Mary Rose McGrath, Shauna Fay and Chloe Dougan have all availed of Lorraine's pattern cutting and construction skills. Having previously combined her business along side working as a technical services co-ordinator in fashion at the Belfast School of Art of the Ulster University. She considered it a privilege to play a part in the beginning of the careers of the students.
Grain-Line Design is a Belfast based fashion design business providing services to other fashion designers. Namely, pattern cutting, toile making, producing blocks, plus technical and garment construction consultation. Grain-Line also, works in collaboration with product designers in textile product development.
In offering a wide range of pattern cutting and sewing courses, Grain-Line seeks to empower sewers with the skills required to expand their pattern cutting knowledge.
With considerable experience in both fashion education and the fashion industry, Grain-Line Design can offer a flexible and personal approach to solving fashion design problems.
